Dr. Kim proudly served in the U.S. Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). After working as a general dentist, he went on to complete specialized surgical training and served aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). He was honorably discharged before entering private practice.
