
Important Instructions for a Safe and Smooth Procedure
To ensure your safety and the effectiveness of your treatment, please carefully follow these pre-operative guidelines before undergoing intravenous (IV) sedation:
The Day Before Surgery
What You Can Expect from Our Team and Practice Environment
- No eating or drinking (including water) for 8 hours before your appointment.
- No smoking for at least 12 hours before surgery. Ideally, stop smoking as early as possible prior to the procedure.
The Day of Surgery
- Bring a responsible adult to drive you to and from your appointment. They must stay in the office during the procedure.
- Do not drive or operate machinery for 24 hours following your sedation.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing with sleeves that can be rolled above the elbow, and low-heeled shoes.
- Remove contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures before surgery.
- Avoid lipstick, heavy makeup, and nail polish.


Medical Conditions & Medications
- If you have an illness (cold, sore throat, stomach or bowel upset), please notify our office as soon as possible.
- If you take daily medications, check with Dr. Ason before your surgery date for specific instructions.
